Who we are
VisualizeBiology (visualizebiology.com) is a free, browser-based platform of interactive biology simulators. It is operated independently by Naseel Ibnu Azeez, who also operates mechsimulator.com.
What data is collected
You can use every simulator without an account and without giving us any personal information. We only receive personal information, such as your email address, if you choose to email us.
Google Analytics and Google AdSense collect non-personal data automatically: browser and operating system, approximate country and region, pages visited and time on page, the referring site and device type. We use it in aggregate to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
Cookies and local storage
VisualizeBiology itself sets no first-party cookies. It keeps a few settings in your browser’s localStorage, such as that you dismissed the cookie notice and your display preferences. These stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Google Analytics (cookies such as _ga) and Google AdSense set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics. Google’s use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to show advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info. See how Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites.
Hosting and delivery
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes requests (including IP addresses) to deliver pages quickly and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. Our origin server is rented from WebHostBox.
Children’s privacy
VisualizeBiology is written for secondary-school students and adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and no part of the site asks for it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what data is held about you, to have it deleted, and to opt out of processing for advertising. Email hello@visualizebiology.com with any request.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change, and the date at the top will show when.
